Susan D. Alsberg died April 11. Born Jan. 31, 1944 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late George and Elsbeth Alsberg. She attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, graduating in 1968, after helping to form Humanities as a major at Earlham. She earned her Master’s in Social Work while raising her three children as a single mother in the 1970’s. She was at the forefront of the women’s liberation movement, working with Planned Parenthood at their inception, and also as a social worker during that era. She is survived by three children, Jeffrey Alsberg and his souse, Melodie, of Cary, N.C., Timothy Zimmer and his spouse, Kristi, of Seattle, Wash., and Tanya Alsberg and her spouse Jennifer Armstrong, of Kennebunk, Maine; three grandchildren, Raven, Jasmine, and Skyla; her brother-in-law, Jake Fredericks; and a cousin, Peter Buseck, of Tempe, Arizona.
