LERNER

Barbara J. (Levi) Lerner of Longmeadow, 75, died April 7. After battling frontotemporal dementia for nearly 15 years, ultimately falling victim to COVID-19. She was the wife of Richard Lerner. She was the daughter of the late Ira and Helen (Miller) Levi. She grew up in Brookline and has been a resident of Longmeadow since 1975. She graduated from Boston University and was an educator in different capacities over the years. She was active with several local Jewish organizations, including Temple Beth El and the National Council of Jewish Women. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Amy (Lerner) Redgate of Lutherville, Md., and Laurie Lodge and her husband, Michael, of Cambridge; and four grandchildren, Emily, Madeline, Allison, and Zachary.
