Melvin H. (Mel) Gerrol of West Hartford, Conn. died May 15. He was the husband of Shirley (Israel) Gerrol. Born and raised in Worcester on Feb. 12, 1934, he was the son of Gertrude and Israel Gerrol. He graduated from Clark University earning a degree in accounting. He was a managing partner with the CPA firm Kostin, Ruffkess, and Company until his retirement. He was an active member of the Probus Club, the Jewish Federation, and the Chabad House of Greater Hartford. He was also active in various committees at the Emanuel Synagogue including the “Minyonaires.” In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Gregory and Phyllis Gerrol of Simsbury, Conn., Drs. Ronald and Felicia Gerrol of Albany, N.Y., and Susan and Michael Cleaver of West Hartford, Conn.; two brothers, Robert (Shirley) Gerrol and David (Lisa) Gerrol; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Shelby, Justin, Rachel, Corey, Emma, Samara, and Rune; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial contributions in may be made to the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford CT 06117; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
