Ruth (Peyser) Feldman of Longmeadow

Ruth (Peyser) Feldman, 94, of Longmeadow, died Jan. 2 at a local nursing home. She was the widow of Paul Feldman. Born and raised in New York City, she came to Springfield in 1940. She received a BS degree from New York University School of Education, Class of 1939. She earned a Masters of Education from American International College in 1978 with a major in secondary education. She taught typing, short hand, and business subjects for 20 years at Chicopee High School, retiring in 1985. After formal retirement, she enjoyed several years as a substitute teacher. She was a member of Sinai Temple. She is survived by two children, Carol (David) Roberts of East Longmeadow, and  Charles (Hillary Strumpf) Feldman, of McLean, Va.; step-grandchildren, Cynthia Dronette and Suzanne Lindblom; step great-grandchildren; a nephew, Mark Feldman; a niece, Julie Feldman; and several grand-nieces and great grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sara Feldman.
