Heritage Students Perform for Fun and Fundraising

Students involved in the set and costume design are already preparing the artwork for the show in May.

The Heritage Academy Performing Arts Club is on a roll! The theme for this year’s performance is “Israel” and it will include raising money for foster children in Afulah, Israel. Segments of the performance will be about Israeli dancing, learning Hebrew, and the Israeli Defense Force. Students will also perform song and dance to John Lennon’s “Imagine” and Matisyahu’s “One Day.”
The Performing Arts Club at Heritage Academy began four years ago for fun, and to give students at the school an opportunity to practice public speaking and performance. With the added goal of tikkun olam, a Hebrew phrase and schoolwide mission meaning “repair the world”, the program has also raised awareness and money for local animal shelters, foster children around the world, the New Americans program at Jewish Family Services, and this year, for the school’s own enrichment fund.
