Tikkun Leyl at JCA
AMHERST – Jewish Community of Amherst, 742 Main St., will hold as evening service on Sunday, May 27 from 6:30 – 9 p.m. followed by a Tikkun Leyl/evening Torah learning with teachers from the community. On May 28, from 10- 11 a.m., the congregation will join together for Hallel, Yizkor, and the reading from the Book of Ruth.

The evening will begin at 9 p.m. with light refreshments, and continue until 2 a.m. with study sessions led by Rabbi Mark Shapiro of Sinai Temple, Rabbi Amy Katz of Congregation Beth El, Rabbi Chaim and Rochel Leah Kosofsky of Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy, and Rabbi Max and Dalia Davis of Congregation B’nai Torah. Shavuot Dialogue in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD – “From Mount Sinai and into the Land of Israel: A Shavuot Dialogue” between Rabbi Amy Katz and Rabbi Mark Shapiro about today’s Israel, will be held Saturday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Sinai Temple , 1100 Dickinson St.
The evening will begin with a conversation between both rabbis about their recent experiences with Israel. After the conversation and learning, a service will be held followed by an oneg in honor of the holiday.
Shavuot Event at LYA
LONGMEADOW – A festive Shavuot event will be held at Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy (LYA), 1148 Converse Street in Longmeadow, on Sunday, May 27, at 10 a.m. Connect with Jews all around the world as the Ten Commandments are read in synagogue for the holiday of Shavuot. There will be a special children’s program going on during services. The Ten Commandments will be read at 11 a.m. A festive, dairy luncheon will be served following the services at 1 p.m. Cost for the dinner is $8 for an adult, $4 for a child and a family price of $28.
