Kugel Cook-off at Springfield JCC

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Jewish Community Center will hold a Kugel Cook-Off and Family Festival on Sunday, Oct. 21 from noon – 2 p.m.
Kugels must be prepared at the Springfield JCC. Kugel bakers will schedule baking time during the week of Oct. 14th and all kugels will be frozen and reheated the day of the event. All kugels must be dairy. JCC will provide tins, baking utensils, salt & pepper.
Participants can make kugels in two categories, one sweet, one savory. The winning kugel from each category will be featured on Gus & Pauls menu and a JCC plaque. One fan favorite will be announced Monday, Oct. 22 at
This kugel will also be sold at the JCC with proceeds to benefit JCC Kids Count Campaign.
Fan favorite voting will be held during the tasting portion of the event on Oct. 21st. Each attendee is entitled to one free vote – additional votes may be purchased for $1 each.
The cook-off and festival will also feature music with DJ John O’Neil, pizza, mac & cheese and other refreshments, and a bounce house. Kugel winners will be announced at 1:15 p.m.
The competitor entrance fee, apron, cookbook & entrance for one additional person is $25; the competitor entrance fee with apron & cookbooks $18; non-competitor families: $10; competitor families: $8.
