Jewish Family Service Celebrates 97 Years of Giving and Caring

JFS Decades of Giving Donors gather with Legacy Donors and BOLD Vision Donors at the 97th Annual Meeting, Decades of Giving, Decades of Caring on November 8th.

SPRINGFIELD – Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts thanked contributors who have been supporting the agency for more than 10 years at “Decades of Giving, Decades of Caring” its annual meeting, held on Nov. 8 at Sinai Temple.
Highlights included a presentation to Marsha Shapiro, as outgoing Chair of the JFS Board of Directors, Hermine Levey Weston’s installation as the Board Chair for the 2012-13 year and the incoming board of directors.  The meeting included multi-media presentations, stories about JFS’s life changing work and a multi-cultural celebration of music, dance and food.
“Our meeting was a big thank you event to all our donors, annual contributors, Legacy Society members and Bold Visions supporters, who support JFS’s mission to assist individuals and families with life’s challenges and transitions.  We are fortunate to have such wonderful supporters that help us to improve lives and solve problems,” stated Bob Marmor, JFS President & CEO.  “Our meeting also highlighted JFS’s ability to respond to changing societal needs with caring acts of loving-kindness through our program and services.”
Marmor thanked the Master of Ceremonies, Daniel Plotkin, and planning committee members Liz Leshine, Debi Latour, Jonna Gaberman, Marsha Shapiro, Marc Dulaimy, Alda Balbino, Yasmin Ahmed, Janice Greenberg, Ann Carson, Donna Gordon, Bhuwan Gautam, and Elaine Shepard for creating a memorable evening.
