CLASSES: Springfield JCC Offers Day and Evening Programs for Adults

SPRINGFIELD – Through Life Lessons, The William & Margery Sadowsky Center of Adult Learning at the Springfield Jewish Community Center, you can sharpen your mind, draw out the artist in you, or become media savvy. Adults are invited to register for new LIfe Lessons offerings:
Turn doodling into an art form with Zentangle, taught by Elaine Huffman, a Certified Zentangle teacher. The two-week class will be offered on Tuesdays, Feb. 26 and March 5, 10 a.m. – noon; or, Wednesdays, March 13 and 20, 7 – 9 p.m.

Plug into technology with three different classes: Learn to Tweet with Twitter, Wednesday, Feb. 20, 7 p.m., Interested in Pinterest?, Wednesday, March 6, 7 p.m., or Blog Using WordPress, Tuesdays, March 12 and 19 at 7 p.m.

The Constitution: Its Origins and Development will be offered by American International College on Tuesdays, Feb. 26-March 19, 1 – 3 p.m. The JCC’s Stu Greene, a Civil War aficionado, will be teaching The Civil War: The Bloodiest War in American History, Tuesdays, Feb.
26 – March 12, 7 – 9 p.m.

Planning a trip to Israel? Improve your Hebrew dialogue with Conversational Hebrew for Travelers, Thursdays, Feb. 28 -March 21, 7 – 8 p.m.

A three-week Furniture Reconditioning class will begin on Monday, March 4 at 7 p.m. Witha little TLC, bring a small table or chair back to life.

Free programs include Learn more about your Kindle, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 10:30 a.m., in collaboration with Storrs Library in Longmeadow. Using Technology to Manage Your Health, cosponsored by Jewish Family Service of Western Mass will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. Israel at 65: Zionism’s Golden Years or Mid-Life Crisis? featuring Longmeadow native Dr. Sara Hirschhorn will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m.

All classes will be held at the Springfield Jewish Community Center, 1160 Dickinson St., Springfield.     Various historic furniture items that were very famous and exclusive pieces designed by wold’s famous designers are very hard to find.
