Registration is On for New Melton Classes

SPRINGFIELD – Temple Beth El, the Springfield JCC and the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts announce a new year of the Florence Melton Adult Mini-school. The program is currently taking registration for the Melton Year One courses and Melton Graduate classes.  Classes are held at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) Neal Webber Building, B’nai Torah or Jewish Geriatric Services. Class size is limited, sign up soon.

Melton Year One Courses

30 Week Classes Begin Thursday, October 3

Thursdays, 9 – 11 a.m. at the JCC

Thursdays, 7 – 9 p.m. at the JGS

Instructors: Rabbi Amy Wallk Katz and Dalia Davis

Rhythms – What’s the point of living Jewishly? Come examine a wide variety of Jewish sources to discover the deeper meanings underlying Jewish holidays, lifecycle observances, and Jewish practice.

Purposes – Why do Jews believe as they do? Explore sources both ancient and modern in pursuit of answers to many of the major issues of Jewish thought and theology.
