LYA Scholarship Dinner on May 27

LONGMEADOW – Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy will hold its “Generations of Goodness,” its scholarship reception, on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Congregation B’nai Torah, 2 Eunice Drive, Longmeadow. At the event LYA will honor Jonathan, Susan, Paul, Samuel, and Stephen Goldsmith.
“The Goldsmith family truly exemplifies ‘Generations of Goodness’”, commented Rabbi Noach Kosofsky, LYA Principal. “LYA is proud to honor this family that models the Jewish values of community involvement and tzedaka (charity).”

The Goldsmith family has deep roots in the local Jewish community. Jonathan is a native of Longmeadow and Susan (Marcus) was born and raised in Holyoke.
Jonathan has served as treasurer at LYA and is a past president of Temple Beth El. He is on the board of directors of the Springfield JCC and is active in many civic and professional organizations. He is a partner in the Springfield law firm of Goldsmith, Katz & Argenio, P.C.
Susan is a board member at Jewish Geriatric Service, Peoples Bank, and Holyoke Community College Foundation. She is the president of the third generation family-owned business, Marcus Printing Co.
Susan and Jonathan are the proud parents of three boys, Paul, Samuel and Stephen, who each began their formal education at LYA. Paul is currently a senior at Syracuse University, Sam is a sophomore at Boston College and Stephen is a junior at The Williston Northampton School.
The LYA ad journal will be distributed at the event and ads may be purchased through May 1, 2014.
