More than 450 people attended Taste of the Boroughs on March 30 at the Doubletree Hotel Westborough. Those who attended were able to partake in the offerings of 34 vendors – a huge variety of restaurants, wine distributors and beer vendors. Dave Crandell, chair of Taste of the Boroughs, said that the event raised just under $40,000.

“Every cent of the proceeds of this event goes directly to scholarships and community programs at the Boroughs JCC and Boroughs JCC preschool,” Crandell said. “For the past seven years I have had the pleasure of volunteering to run this event. We have raised over $200,000 dollars total through this event alone. Last year the Boroughs JCC preschool provided over $65,000 in need based scholarships to families. Although this event doesn’t cover all of our costs for scholarships it provides a good base and allows us to support more members of the community.”
