Ida (Sclair) Plesset, 88, died Oct. 22 at Ruth’s House in Longmeadow. Born in Bangor, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Getchel and Kate (Golub) Sclair. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Lewis Plesset. She was educated in Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High School in 1944. She worked for Attorney Edward Stern as a legal secretary, and was a lifelong member of Congregation Beth Israel and head of the telephone committee for the Friendship Club. She is survived by her children, Gail (Plesset) Baquis and George Baquis of Longmeadow, and Robert Plesset and Rochelle (Kauffman) Plesset of Potomac, Md.; four grandchildren, Salomone Baquis and Kate Baquis, both of Washington, D.C., Emilie Plesset of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jacqueline Plesset of Potomac, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 144 York Street, Bangor, Maine 04401 or Jewish Geriatric Services, 770 Converse St., Longmeadow, MA 01106.
