GREENFIELD – Temple Israel, 27 Pierce St., will hold a Shabbaton Friday Feb. 27 – Sunday, March 1, led by interim student rabbi Susan Elkodsi.
Friday night, Feb. 27 will feature a 6 p.m. pot-luck dinner, and Kabbalat Shabbat service at 7:30 p.m., followed by an oneg. On Saturday, Feb. 28, Shabbat morning service at 10 a.m. will be followed by kiddush at noon. Torah study will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Susan Elkodsi will guide the congregation through this last portion of the day of rest. Shabbat will conclude with the afternoon and evening services with se’udah shlishit, the traditional third meal of Shabbat in between them, accompanied by teaching and singing. Following the evening service we will celebrate Havdalah together followed by dinner and then an evening Purim program (see page 25 for details.)
