Roslyn Nitkin, 91, of Northampton, formerly of Great Neck, N.Y., died April 25. She was the wife of the late Frederick Nitkin. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Ethel and Ralph Karpas. She graduated from Brooklyn College. While raising her three children in Great Neck, N.Y., she went back to college to complete her Master’s degree from Hunter College in 1972. With a certification as a registered dietitian, she worked at Long Island College Hospital, the Brooklyn Bureau of Social Service, the Brooklyn Red Cross, and for several years in the adolescent clinic at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center. She is survived by three children, Andrew Nitkin and his wife, Fran, Ralph Nitkin and his wife, Camilla, and Lynn Hicks and her husband, Kent; grandchildren, Brian and April, Aaron and Elena, and Elexis and Jaxon; great-grandchildren, Austin, Holly, Efraim and Neftali; and a sister, Libby Dratler. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiddush Fund of Congregation B’nai Israel in Northampton.
