Sam Glaser Shabbaton in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Jewish community will present a Shabbaton with Jewish music composer Sam Glaser from Friday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 22.

  • On Friday, Nov. 20 at
4:10 p.m. Mincha/Kabbalat Shabbat (evening services) with Sam Glaser will be held at Congregation B’nai Torah, 2 Eunice Drive.
  • At 7:30 p.m. that evening, the Fifth Annual Inter-Community Dinner will be held at Temple Beth El, 979 Dickinson St. Reservations are required; RSVP to the Jewish Federation of Western Mass., at (413) 737-4313.
  • On Saturday morning, Shabbat services with Sam Glaser will be held at B’nai Torah at 9 a.m. After a Kiddush at 11:15 a.m., a lecture, “Inside the Twighlight Zone: Demystifying the Jewish Concept of Afterlife,” will be held.
  • At 4 p.m. Mincha/Seudah Shlishis (third meal) will be held at B’nai Torah and it is free and open to all, followed by Havdalah/Shabbat at 5:07 p.m.
  • At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night, a Community Concert with Sam Glaser will be held at Temple Beth El.
  • On Sunday at 12:30 p.m., Celebrate our Heritage: A Collaborative concert featuring Sam Glaser and the students of Heritage Academy will be held at Sinai Temple, 1100 Dickinson St.
