LONGMEADOW – Heritage Academy celebrated its 65th anniversary during a community event weekend Saturday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 22 with Jewish performer Sam Glaser.

Heritage students rehearsed with Sam Glaser on Friday morning, preparing for their performance with the entertainer at Sinai Temple on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday, Glaser performed in a Community Concert at Temple Beth El at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Glaser performed at “Hatikvah: The Musical” with a special performance by the Heritage Academy students, who performed songs including “The Promise” and “A Million Butterflies.” The middle school students shared a third verse of the Hatikvah written by them and students, Yuval Edry and Anna Gorfinkel sang the Hatikvah. Memories of Heritage’s 65 years were displayed on large screens with photos and video clips of now and years past. The entire school sang and danced to the lively song, “Dancing in Jerusalem.”
