Mark I. Cohen of Southampton died July 14. He was the husband of Nilda Cohen. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa., he attended the University of Pennsylvania and then law school at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served in both Japan and Morocco. He was the author of Morocco: Old Land, New Nation. He worked as tax attorney/counsel at Mobil Corporation, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and at American Express in New York City. After moving to Massachusetts, he was an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law and assistant general counsel at Stanhome, Inc. He served on the boards of the Community Music School of Springfield, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Springfield Mentoring Partnership, and the Food Bank of Western Mass. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dawn Cohen Margolin and Wendy Cohen; two sons-in-law, Sandy Margolin and Robert Smith; five grandchildren, Avi, Devi and Eppi Margolin, and Alex and Sarah Cohen-Smith; a great-grandson, Tzur Margolin; a sister, Maxine Davidoff; a sister-in-law, Idalia Burkitt; and a brother-in-law, Wilfredo Delgado. ASCHER-ZIMMERMAN FUNERAL HOME
