David Friedman, 92, of Worcester, died at the Jewish Healthcare Center Oct. 1. He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (Berman) Friedman. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Morris D. and Clara (Gendol) Friedman. He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving with the 3rd Army Combat Engineers. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He graduated Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College. He was a lifelong member of Temple Emanuel, the Jewish War Veterans Irving Yarock Post #32, the Disabled American Veterans Post, the Jewish Healthcare Center and was a life member of the YMCA. For a period of 20 years he consistently was a blood donor to the American Red Cross. He is survived by a son, Philip Friedman and his wife, Cathy, of Paxton; two daughters, Karen Dowd and her husband, Thomas, of Holden and Beth Davis of Worcester; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Friedberg; and a brother, Leonard Friedman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
