Summer Sizzles at LYA

Chris Poulos jumps over two brave volunteers as his closing act.

The Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy (LYA) Sizzlin’ Summer Barbecue was a big summer hit. A crowd of more than 200 community members attended the 11th annual event held on Aug. 16. The BBQ featured hamburgers and hot dogs and lots of fun for the kids, including an appearance by Chris Poulos, world champion stunt cyclist, who entertained young and old with stunts on his bicycle and taught the audience about respect, safety, and responsibility.

The show was sponsored in part by Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home. In addition, youngsters enjoyed a variety of activities and crafts. Dr. Steven Sobel organized a spirited basketball game for the teens. Special thanks go to Ron Manchester and Patrick Sullivan, who grilled for the crowd.
