Purim, the Newsical

HOLYOKE – For the second year in a row, under the direction of Richard Freyman and Deborah Levine, the Sons of Zion Theatre Company packed a full house with their original script of “Purim, the Newsical” a modern TV broadcast telling the story of Esther. In this schpiel, there was plenty of nonsense as the audience was guided “back and forth several thousand years in technological sophistication without blinking an eye.”  Once the play came to its foregone conclusion, everyone was treated to a variety of freshly baked hamentashen.
