Lola (Ossip) Salowitz, 94, of Worcester, formerly of New Haven, Conn. and Delray Beach, Fla., died March 29 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. She was the widow of Morris Salowitz. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Queens, she was the daughter of Nathan and Betty (Greenberg) Ossip. She received a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from New York University and a Master’s degree in Education and Teachers Certification from Southern Connecticut State College. She was an elementary school teacher in Hamden, Conn. and was later the head of the math department at the Foote School in New Haven. She is survived by a son, Neil Salowitz and his wife, Debra, of West Des Moines, Iowa, and a daughter, Hanna Schwartz and her husband, Peter, of Worcester; four grandchildren, Shoshana Thompson and her husband, Paul, Rachel Vaughan and her husband, Brian; Noah Salowitz and his wife, Chaya, and Coby Salowitz; and three great-grandchildren, Rufus, Rosalyn and Lilah Bracha. She was predeceased by her brother, William Ossip.
