Ellen Rudek Alpert of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Springfield, died May 21. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Bertha Rudek. She was the widow of Stuart Alpert. She taught in the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District for 35 years. She is survived by her stepchildren, Lisa Alpert of Colorado and Karl Alpert of Pennsylvania; a grandson, Miles; two sisters, Sandy Gassner and her husband, Mark, and Cindy Pedlikin and her husband, Howard; her nephews, Paul Gassner (Lisa), John Gassner, Philip Pedlikin (Adrianne), Joel Pedlikin (Megan) and Ira Pedlikin (Tina); great-nephews and -nieces, Rachel, Joshua, Toby and Zoey Gassner, Lena, Ethan, Caleb and Noah Pedlikin and Oscar and Jonah Pedlikin-Poplowski; and many cousins.
