Getting together with Boroughs Hadassah

Members from The Greater Boroughs Chapter of Hadassah gathered for their annual Membership Event in Westborough in September. Greater Boroughs Hadassah includes members from Westborough, Northborough, Southborough, Marlborough, Hopkinton and beyond, and has been bringing volunteers together for over 17 years supporting the mission of Hadassah.

Guardians of the Earth 

Earlier this month Lander-Grinspoon Academy 6th-graders spent four days at TEVA at the Isabella Freedman Center in Falls Village, Conn., participating in the “Shomrei Adamah,” or “Guardians of the Earth” program. Teva works to “transform Jewish education through experiential learning that fosters Jewish, ecological, and food sustainability.”







LYA students help beautify area sukkot 

Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy (LYA) 5th grade and Middle School students gave back to the community this year by decorating area sukkot. The 5th grade decorated the sukkah at Ruth’s House Assisted Living and the Middle School students decorated the sukkah at JGS Lifecare. Students strung fall leaves and created displays with gourds and corn. The 5th grade made cards with holiday greetings that were strung across the sukkah, and worked with the residents to beautify the sukkot for the holiday.

Sinai Sneakers

Members of Sinai Temple collected 44 pairs of new sneakers, 150 pairs of new socks, 20 new backpacks and oodles of new school supplies during the High Holidays and delivered them to Gray House in Springfield on Oct. 16. This is an annual effort at Sinai in support of Gray House’s “Shoes that Fit” program. The shoes are distributed to all of the children in the Gray House Kids’ Club program, their siblings and the children of our adult education students.
