Shirley Lerner, 95, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Worcester, died March 15 at her home. She was the widow of Dr. Saul Lerner. Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of Abraham and Dora (Aberman) Milman. She attended Clark University and received her Master’s Degree in social work at Boston University School of Social Work. After her marriage, she lived in New York City where she worked as a medical social worker at Mount Sinai Hospital. She later returned to Worcester where she raised her family, later retiring to Cape Cod. She is survived by her daughters, Lenore Lerner of Worcester and Lisa Lerner Balegno and her husband, Sergio, of Marstons Mills; grandchildren, Ashley Bronson of Boston and Rachel Holmgren and her husband, Paul, of East Sandwich; and Jenna and Sam Balegno; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Chase.
